Queensland developer Heritage Pacific will soon start civil works in readiness for a state-of-the-art childcare centre at its Genesis masterplanned community at Coomera following recent council approval.
The daycare centre will be run by leading childcare provider ABC Learning Centres and will have capacity for 74 children and 11 staff.
Heritage Pacific Project Manager Steve Harrison said the centre would enhance the family-friendly characteristics which Genesis was already famous for.
“This cutting-edge childcare centre is consistent with our philosophy of building well-rounded communities that cater for all facets of family life,” Mr Harrison said.
“We are proud to have attracted an operator of the standing of ABC Learning Centres. Their investment is an expert vote of confidence in the future of the Genesis community.”
When completed, the centre will have facilities worthy of a children’s theme park with 608 sqm of landscaped and astro-turf-covered play areas, climbing frames, a sandpit, tricycle track and a play fort set in a pit of soft-fall material.
ABC Learning Centres’ Coomera area manager Stacey Weinhart said the centre affirmed ABC’s commitment to building and creating exciting and challenging early learning environments for children.
“Coomera is a thriving area and this much-awaited centre will be a great addition to the community,’’ she said. “Our first priority is always the children in our care and this state of the art centre shows that ABC is committed to providing highest quality early childhood services.”
The centre will measure 532 sqm indoors and will be set on 2350 sqm of land. About one-quarter of its outdoor areas will be protected by shade cloth. For the convenience of parents and staff the centre will also feature 25 on-site parking spaces.
Heritage Pacific expects to commence civil works within two weeks. Site preparation works will include roadworks, extensive landscaping and tree planting, connection of the site to electricity, gas, sewer and water reticulation as well as stormwater drainage.
Work on the building itself is expected to start later this year.
Once Genesis is completed it will incorporate more than 700 homes in a prime location on the eastern side of the M1 (Pacific Motorway), 35 minutes from the Brisbane CBD and 20 minutes from Surfers Paradise.
The development has met with spectacular sales success recently, with the first 22 homesites in the Bunya release selling out in just three hours for a total of $6.6 million.
