Queensland’s leading environmental developer Heritage Pacific won the Urban Development Institute of Queensland’s (UDIA) Suncorp Award for Masterplanned Development for its Forest Ridge project in Narangba.

Announced at a Gala Dinner at the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre on Friday night, the award recognises excellence in large scale residential development.

Project Manager for Forest Ridge, Jeremy Bell said receiving this award reinforces Heritage Pacific’s position as a leading environmental developer.

“This is the second award in four weeks for Heritage Pacific, as we were also voted Australia’s Best Residential Community at the 2008 Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Awards in May.

“Forest Ridge has been a flagship community for Heritage Pacific for more then 15 years and in that time we have welcomed nearly 1,700 families.”

“Our community encompasses an area of 335 hectares with approximately 1,900 homes with over 60 hectares dedicated to open space.”

Forest Ridge sold its first block of land in 1993 for $41,000. Today, Forest Ridge accounts for more than 50% of sales in Narangba and with an average land price of over $200,000.

“This prestigious UDIA award is testament to the hardwork and dedication, not only from our team at Forest Ridge, but also our residents who have such a sense of pride in their community.”

Forest Ridge now boasts a Community Police Beat, 62 hectares of dedicated open space, 16 kilometres of safe community walk and cycle trails, first class education including child care, primary and secondary schools, Narangba Valley Shopping Centre, an 18 hectare sports and recreation complex.

“People are quickly learning about the lifestyle benefits that comes with living in this burgeoning area of South East Queensland, there is definitely high interest from people wanting to live at Forest Ridge and it really is a reflection of what we, as a community, have to offer,” Mr Bell said.

Since 1987, Heritage Pacific has welcomed more than 10,000 families to over 25 communities throughout South-East Queensland and has established one of the country’s fastest-growing home-building businesses.

Heritage Pacific has also developed a portfolio of commercial and retail assets valued at more than $350 million and built an established funds management business.
