Heritage Pacific’s Genesis development in Coomera has another string to add to its environmentally sustainable bow with the release of figures showing the company is recovering up to 75% of the waste generated from onsite housing construction.

The target set by Heritage Pacific was originally 70%, however the latest figures show an increase of 5% making the total recyclable amount 75%.

Genesis Project Manager, Stephen Harrison said he was pleased with the result and with a strong emphasis on sustainability at Genesis this is another milestone reached during the development.

“The materials we send away in skip bins from our sites include bricks and pavers, concrete, earth and soil, glass and plastic.”

“With this in mind, we have made a decision to increase our target to 90% in the next 12 months.”

“We have the ability to move remaining materials from one house over to the next house to minimise our wastage and this will further enhance the level of recycling we achieve compared to traditional builders,” Mr Harrison said.

Genesis homesites start at $239,900 with sizes ranging from 600 to 739sqm.

Upon completion, Genesis will be home to over 2,500 residents.
